Antonio Brown got his wish.
The Oakland Raiders have released Antonio Brown before he ever played a game for the team.
The Raiders announced the decision Saturday, hours after he requested his release in the latest turn in a dramatic first summer with the team. Oakland opens its season Monday night
Agent Drew Rosenhaus told Pro Football Talk via text message , “Now that Antonio is a free agent, we are focused on the future and I will immediately work on signing him to a new team,” “Antonio is looking forward to a new beginning.”
He went on Instagram to take a shot at the Raiders after weeks of feuding, going so far as to tag the team.
Jeff Darlington, a reporter for ESPN, said he received an email Saturday from Brown who he stated that the team “took away my guarantees,” adding that there’s “no way I play.”
