Ryan Mutombo, the son of Basketball Hall of Fame center Dikembe Mutombo, announced on his Twitter page on Sunday that he is committed to play college basketball at Georgetown.

Mutombo is a 4-star prospect and the 80th-ranked player in the 2021 recruiting class, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings. He’s also listed as the 14th-best center and the No. 4 player coming out of Georgia among next year’s incoming group.

The 6-foot-11 center chose the Hoyas over Tennessee, Stanford, and Georgia.

His father Dikembe , starred for Georgetown in the late ’80s and early ’90s before embarking on a successful 18-year NBA career. He was a two-time Big East Defensive Player of the Year and formed a potent frontcourt tandem with fellow Hall of Famer Alonzo Mourning.
